iona
what is your show called?
stargazer fm
what kind of sounds, scenes and styles can we expect to hear on the show?
it's an interview show where i interview artists i consider underrated. it's a show where people are allowed to talk about whatever they want, however they want. i love giving artists platforms to share their stories in ways they can't do elsewhere. i appreciate it's hard to get a personality across on radio due to restrictions on swearing, copyright, format limitations... but with stargazer fm on foundation fm, i always encourage complete chaos on the show with my guests which i think is a real breath of fresh air for everyone in the room!
what influences have shaped your approach to the show?
the show lives as an extension of the podcast i host called 'stargazer' where i go stargazing with underrated artists in a homemade fort. so the themes of vulnerability, honesty, awkwardness, loudness, weirdness - it's all rooted in my podcast. i'm so grateful to be able to bring it to radio as well!!
if your show could transport your listener to any location at any time, where would it be?
oh it would probably be the summer of your last year in school when you have zero worries in the world and there's so many possibilities and the light is pretty around 9pm and you're wearing shorts and a jumper and riding your bike around everywhere with your friends
can you share one key highlight that you’ve shared with the foundation.fm airwaves?
i told lexa gates my ass was sweating and then i dapped her up
if you could manifest one dream guest, who would it be?
i would love to interview audrey nuna on radio! i think she's the coolest artist. she's absolutely lightyears ahead of the game - and so, so criminally underrated
