lily london
what is your show called?
recorded + lily london
what kind of sounds, scenes and styles can we expect to hear on the show?
I’ve got a very deep and percussive taste and heavily influenced by the sound of the UK, so you can expect digger acid jazz, uk street soul, broken beat, bruk, garage and bass
what influences have shaped your approach to the show?
I’ve been presenting a radio show for 8 years across many different channels, from barcelona city fm to Rinse, I’ve just been playing what I like the sound of and what suits the slot time and chatting to artists who’s music I enjoy, it’s as simple as that
if your show could transport your listener to any location at any time, where would it be?
I love the old school london sound when everything was new. so let’s go back to camden's dingwalls with the rupture of dance floor jazz, party with class like West london's 'wwice as nice’ UK garage night, and be selective, well educated and norti like rage (fabio & grooverider’s night) in central
can you share one key highlight that you’ve shared with the foundation.fm airwaves?
I’ve interviewed a lot of incredibly talented and inspiring artists on my previous breakfast show with foundation. but I have to say sitting with jamilah barry after countless sobs to her songs really gave me the shivers
if you could manifest one dream guest, who would it be?
I’m usually one for the underground but seeing as this is a moment to reach high. the angel alicia keys
