the nasty poet
what is your show called?
the lyricism show + the nasty poet
what kind of sounds, scenes and styles can we expect to hear on the show?
an eclectic mix of the greatest lyricists and great discussion from poets, singers, songwriters and rappers
what influences have shaped your approach to the show?
so I grew up in pirate radio producing grime sets, so the appreciation for lyricism has always been there. moving into poetry, looking at friend's, for example james massiah's nights and the bringing of new and upcoming talent into community spaces. my mantra is that good writing and words can come from anywhere and it's important to preserve and promote that, so I like to bring people in that might not have performed yet or might be new to it all, as well as speaking to people that are household names in their craft. I want to share the breadth of words
if your show could transport your listener to any location at any time, where would it be?
somewhere they feel at peace, can be truly themselves and feel heard
can you share one key highlight that you’ve shared with the foundation.fm airwaves? being on air since the birth of foundation has been incredible, I feel so lucky and privileged to have grown alongside the station. there are too many highlights
if you could manifest one dream guest, who would it be?
tricky! toss up between kae tempest, ghetts and casisdead
